Unlock the fundamentals of acrylic painting in this 6-session workshop focused on developing the skills to paint from a still-life. Designed for beginners and intermediate painters, this course will guide you through the essential techniques needed to create lifelike compositions.
Throughout the workshop, students will:
Learn to observe objects closely and capture form, light, and shadow.
Explore color theory and mixing techniques to achieve realistic hues.
Practice brushwork and layering to add depth and texture to paintings.
Receive individual feedback to help refine their style and technique.
Each week will build on the previous one, with students working on various still-life arrangements. By the end of the course, participants will complete one or more finished pieces, developing the confidence and skills to continue their painting journey.

Roman Feldhahn
ROMAN FELDHAHN is an oil painter and teaching artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Drawing and Painting and Teaching Artist minor. Roman is a Lead Educator at the Walker Art Center where he leads tours, facilitates school and family programs, and studies contemporary art.
Roman paints objects that become significant to him through their ubiquity. These items come to represent people, situations, or moments in time.
