Course Description:
Discover the art of color and simplification through the eyes of Henri Matisse.
Using a curated collection of his paintings for inspiration and a list of Matisse-favorite subjects (think: fishbowls, cats, and cozy interior corners) students will dream up and sketch their own compositions, then bring them to life using Matisse's flat, unblended color technique and bold shape-making. No blending or realism required, just bold decisions.
