Class Description:
Not quite a beginner, but not ready to call yourself intermediate? This 5 session class is designed for students who have already taken an introductory ceramics course and are ready to build on their foundational skills. We’ll revisit wheel-throwing basics while introducing new techniques for form, function, and finishing. Through guided demonstrations and plenty of studio practice time, you’ll strengthen your confidence at the wheel, refine your craftsmanship, and experiment with surface design.
This class is perfect for students who want to push their skills a little further, explore personal projects with instructor support, and continue their clay journey in a supportive, community-driven environment.
Our multi-session ceramics classes include Studio Free Time during the WHAT Art School open hours during the run of the class. We have 5 wheels available during that time on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is also table space for those who wish to add to their wheel-thrown creations.
Additional Notes:
- Supplies Included: Initial 25 lbs. of clay.
- Additional Supplies: Extra clay and tools are available for purchase at the studio.
- Firing Fees: Students will have the opportunity to fire their work. Some small fees may apply depending on the volume of work fired.
This class structure ensures a comprehensive introduction to wheel-throwing, balancing skill development with creative exploration.
