1. Private Ceramics Lessons

Our private ceramics classes are perfect for anyone looking to experience the magic of working with clay in a personalized setting. Tailored to your interests, these one-on-one or small group sessions (up to 6 participants) cover the fundamentals of wheel-throwing or hand-building. Private lessons are a fantastic way to develop your skills at your own pace or share a creative experience with friends or family. 2. Bas-Relief Sculpting

Instructor: Jim Shoop

Dive into the art of bas-relief sculpture in this immersive weekend workshop! Over two weekends, you’ll learn the fundamentals of low-relief sculpting, where the figure projects slightly from the background. This class is ideal for painters, drawing enthusiasts, and aspiring sculptors interested in expanding their skills. The course includes a preparation day to get set up in the studio, followed by four in-depth sessions covering sculpting techniques and the historical significance of bas-relief.

3. Portrait Sculpting from Life

Instructor: Jim Shoop

This 10-week course offers a deep exploration into portrait sculpting from a live model. Learn to capture likeness, expression, and anatomical detail as you sculpt a life-size bust in clay. You’ll receive individualized critiques and demonstrations to refine your technique and gain a solid foundation in portrait sculpting. A rewarding experience for anyone interested in advancing their sculpting skills, this class is ideal for dedicated learners.

4. Cyanotype Printed Wall Hangings

Instructor: Anna Carlson

Explore the unique art of cyanotype printing in this 2-day weekend workshop. Students will learn how to create beautiful, blue-toned cyanotype prints on fabric, experimenting with transparencies, toning, and plant pigments. By the end of the weekend, participants will transform their prints into stunning wall hangings, using basic sewing techniques. This class is beginner-friendly and offers an exciting mix of science and creativity.

5. Mixed Media Studio

Instructor: Haley Prochnow

In this 4-week course, students will dive into mixed media techniques, working with collage, paper mache, painting, drawing, and sculpture. Each week brings new creative prompts and projects designed to enhance your problem-solving skills and broaden your artistic horizons. Perfect for artists of all levels, this course encourages experimentation and self-expression while developing foundational art skills.

6. Still Life Painting Workshop

Instructor: Roman Feldhahn

This 6-week painting workshop is a fantastic choice for beginners and intermediate artists looking to master the art of still life painting. Students will learn to observe objects closely, capture light and shadow, and mix colors to create lifelike compositions. With individualized feedback and hands-on practice, participants will complete one or more finished pieces by the end of the course, gaining confidence and skill along the way.

7. Rug Hooking

Instructor: Alycen Brothen

Learn the traditional craft of primitive rug hooking in this introductory class. Using wool fabric strips on a linen backing, students will create a 4x6 inch landscape piece ready to be framed. The workshop covers essential techniques, including pulling loops and working with color and perspective to create a vibrant, textured landscape. A wonderful class for anyone interested in traditional handcrafts.
